Youths walk four days to attend church anniversary

A GROUP of 35 Anglican Youths from the Hamara, Evasusu and Aki-1 villages in Northern walked the Kokoda Track for four days to Port Moresby to attend a church anniversary.
Their journey coincides with the 40th anniversary celebrations of St Mary’s Anglican Church at Gerehu this Sunday.
The youths are from five parishes from the Anglican Diocese of Popondetta.
They left Popondetta on Aug 21 and arrived in Port Moresby on the 25th.
A week-long programme aimed at improving the lives of youths is also being conducted at St Mary’s.
The youth group will leave for Popondetta on Wednesday.
