Plan for new market in Jiwaka

A NEW market to be built in Banz, Jiwaka, will accommodate 400 vendors.
Cane Construction Limited has been awarded the contract to build the market from a K257,00 funding allocated by North Waghi MP Benjamin Mul.
“The market space in Banz is small, and at the moment people are selling on the side of the road” he said. The market would be built on church land.
“We will build the market and the church will look after it, as it seems that everything managed by the church runs smoothly and lasts longer.”
Mul said people in Chimbu, Western Highlands and other provinces had been moving to Banz to settle there. Cane Construction architect Ezekiel Kindinive said the two-level building for Banz market would cater for 400 people.
“It will also have eight small stalls for people to sell other goods as well and I am honoured to be part of such meaningful development project in the area,” he said.
