LEAD partners and farmers basing their operations in villages of targeted provinces of Highlands and Morobe have hailed the government-funded Market for Village Farmers (MVF) project for addressing perennial issues of inability in accessing urban domestic markets with their fresh farm produce. The MVF project, which is financed by the International Fund for Agriculture Development, and coordinated through the project coordination unit of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock and executed by the project management unit of the Fresh Produce development Agency, has boosted the morale of the rural based farmers.
Lead partner Paula Toman, director of Gawai Women’s Enterprise, based at Ombun Tapi village in Nondugl, Jiwaka, received a K165,000 funding grant from the MVF project agreement.
