QUEENSLAND Intrust Super Cup (ISC) ladder leaders Norths Devils have signed Papua New Guinea international Nene Macdonald for the remainder of the 2021 season.
The 27-year-old has played 98 National Rugby League games for the Sydney Roosters, Gold Coast Titans, St George Illawarra Dragons, North Queensland Cowboys and Cronulla Sharks.
The 192cm, 108kg back has also played nine Tests for the Michael Marum-coached PNG Kumuls.
“He brings plenty of experience to the side and we welcome him to the club,” the Devils said on their Facebook page on Friday.
Meanwhile, Queensland Rugby League (QRL) cancelled last ISC games, including the SP Hunters-Wynnum Manly clash, following Saturday morning’s Queensland government lockdown announcement.
QRL managing director Robert Moore said on the league’s website that he understood it was disappointing for players and fans, but the safety of everyone was the priority.
