WITHOUT a healthy lifestyle, we cannot achieve our personal, family or national goals, says National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
More than 40 persons turned up at the Indian High Commission in Port Moresby last Friday to begin the day with a little bit of yoga.
In commemoration of World Yoga Day, Parkop said: “Yoga is about the unity of the mind and body, which is very important for our health.
“In commemoration, we remind ourselves of the simple fact that when we are not healthy, fit and well, both mentally and physically, we cannot be great leaders for our people.
“Yoga is a symbol of wellness, where people have their own choices but must always remember their health,” Parkop said.
“When we look after ourselves, we can then look after our environment which includes our biodiversity.”
Charge d’affaires Ravindrah Nath said: “The United Nations has marked June 21 to be World Yoga Day, a day for wellness and to reflect and think about our mental and physical health.”
