Lae Tigers grateful

LAE Tigers head coach Noel Zemming has praised PNG Hunters squad members Sanny Wabo, Robert Mathias, Joshua Mire and Finley Glare for helping the side upset hosts Port Moresby Vipers 34-18 on Sunday at the National Football Stadium.
The Lae Biscuit-sponsored side’s halves paring of Glare and Mire dominated the Vipers, with Glare’s short passes and Mire’s high kicks displacing the Moni Plus-sponsored Vipers halves Joel Gena and Charlie Simon and fullback Sylvester Bulu.
Vipers only scored three tries through five-eight Gena, winger Henry Marai and interchange hooker Igiboi Lawrence with Gena perfecting all three conversions to finish with 18 points.
Tigers scored through Douglas David and Jordan Steven who bagged a double, Emmanuel Alfred and Norman Napa with Mire converting five out of six tries.
