THE Waigani Committal Court was told yesterday that the police hand-up brief for a hotel manager charged with raping a woman in Port Moresby last year was complete and ready to be served.
Magistrate Paul Puri Nii gave police two weeks to serve the file on Sanctuary Hotel operations manager Jamie Pang accused of assaulting a 20-year-old woman.
Pang told the court the allegation against was false.
“The victim knows the whole truth about what happened and she should be here to tell the court,” the Australian said.
“I ask the court to please let justice be done and let me go home to my family.”
Pang said everything in the police file was false and asked to be released from custody.
Magistrate Nii told Pang to file his statement in submission through his lawyer, Philip Tabuchi.
Police alleged that on Oct 20, 2021, the victim and her friend were picked up by Pang’s driver at Vadavada and taken to the hotel.
On their way, the victim’s friend told her that she had been invited by her boyfriend for drinks and had booked a room for them.
The victim was brought to Pang’s room where he allegedly forced her to take drugs and then did an AIDS test on the victim before raping her.
The victim was then put in a taxi and directed to be taken home, but she was allegedly raped by the taxi driver before being dropped off at the Port Moresby police station.
The victim reported the matter to a duty officer who then her took and allegedly raped her a third time and then made a video threatening her not to report the matter.
