Glenn Close is in recovery mode.
The Oscar-nominated actor, 77, said in a video posted to her Instagram page on Wednesday that she has been in London to begin filming Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and that she only got to film for two days before she “came down with Covid and RSV both at the same time.”
“As of today, (it) is the first day that I feel like I am getting back to myself,” Close continued. “I’ll have to start all over again and get into the rhythm of shooting. Hopefully I can be back on set tomorrow.”
Close added that she was “really hit hard” by her bout of illness, but that she’s thrilled to be in London to shoot the movie and “can’t wait to be back and to play with these wonderful actors.”
Respiratory syncytial virus, known as RSV, is a common respiratory virus that typically causes cold-like symptoms, but can be serious, especially in infants and older adults.
Globally, about 64 million people get sick with RSV each year, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
And while Covid-19 cases are relatively low right now – with only 3% to 4% of people who are getting tested coming back positive for the virus, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – the US Food and Drug Administration’s committee of independent advisers voted unanimously earlier this month to recommend that the agency tell vaccine manufacturers to update Covid shots for the 2024-2025 season.
In the caption of her post, Close wrote that she’s “finally feeling better,” and acknowledged that it’s been a “crazy way to start a movie.” She also encouraged her followers to “wear a mask in crowds” and to “be well.”
The Rian Johnson-directed “Wake Up Dead Man” is the third installment of the “Knives Out” franchise, following 2019’s Knives Out and 2022’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Daniel Craig will return as intrepid investigator Benoit Blanc in the new film, which also stars an ensemble cast including Josh Brolin, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, Mila Kunis and Thomas Haden Church.

Kevin Costner confirms he won’t return to ‘Yellowstone’
Kevin Costner as John Dutton in Paramount’s Yellowstone.

Days after discussing what it would take for him to return to Yellowstone, Kevin Costner has announced he’s done with the hit show.
The actor made the announcement in a video he shared on Instagram.
“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love,” Costner said. “I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.”
He has been working on a multi-part film series, the first of which Horizon: An American Saga, is in theatres next week.
He posted the video soon after the announcement that the much anticipated return of Yellowstone is happening November 10.
“I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning,” he said. “I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”
Costner recently appeared on Howard Stern’s show and said he would only be returning if “the planets want to align up.”
“Which means the storylines, the scripts and then I want to work more than once a year,” Costner said. “And to do that, times have to be set aside for things. When that couldn’t happen that can’t work for me anymore.”
He also told Stern that he had a conversation with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan.
“We both said what was important to us, and it doesn’t seem like we can [work things out],” Costner said. “My whole life has been about am I gonna stand tall even in some desperate situation where it doesn’t work for me.”
Costner originated the role of John Dutton and said he absolutely believed the series could go on without him. He is co-writing, co-producing, directing and starring in the first “Horizon” film. – CNN

Ben Affleck breaks down his ‘resting hard face’
Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck, pictured, is well aware of what people say about some of his expressions.
The Oscar-winner appears in a new episode of Peacock’s Hart to Heart, hosted by Kevin Hart, where he discussed why he’s been frequently photographed appearing in a sour mood.
“First of all, I’m also a little bit shy. I also don’t like a lot of attention,” Aflleck told Hart. “It’s [like] why people see me and they’re like, what’s with this dude? Always mad. He’s always mad, because when somebody has their camera and it’s sticking in my face and I’m like, okay.”
Affleck said he’s even more bothered by paparazzo cameras when he is with his kids.
“I may be angry that you’re around my children. I don’t mind you taking my picture. Coming out of a club or premiere (or) whatever. Go ahead. Knock yourself out,” Affleck said. “I don’t notice you. But with my children, that’s a different thing.” – CNN

Jolie and Pitt went from ‘domestic bliss’ to divorce
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

It was a seemingly perfect family in a picture-perfect magazine feature.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sat in their sunlit glory, playing with their pretend children in their pretend backyard in a now-legendary 60-page photo spread titled “Domestic Bliss” in the July 2005 issue of W Magazine.
The scenes of make-believe family depicted in the pages of the fashion magazine, published nearly 19 years ago, foreshadowed what went on to become a reality for the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-stars: Six children between them and a loving relationship that saw the pair experience professional successes and weather personal hardships in seemingly equal measure.
Once Hollywood’s most glamorous power couple, Pitt and Jolie have been locked in a fraught web of legal proceedings since 2016. The divorce of the couple once dubbed Brangelina is not yet finalized and a painful family rift remains.
A source close to Pitt told CNN that the actor “loves his family” and ”wants what’s best” for them. “And so he’s stayed silent on discussing anything about his kids even though it’s obviously very upsetting,” the individual said. – CNN
