BANK South Pacific is embarking on improving its banking services by introducing cash agents in strategic locations, including villages, to make transactions easier for its customers.

Wewak BSP sales team leader Brigitte Huafilomg said cash agents are people who act as the automatic teller machines (ATMs) in towns, villages and settlements where security is not guaranteed for the bank to install ATMs.

Huafilomg said Kundu Card customers can access this service by swiping their cards at any of these terminals for on the spot withdrawals and deposits. She was speaking at Makon village outside Wewak yesterday during an awareness programme organised by the village for the bank to speak on its products and services.

Apart from the Kundu Card, the bank offers other products which include Sumatin account, Plus Saver account and term deposits.

Huafilomg said it was no longer safe for mothers to keep their hard earned cash at home and they must take advantage of the opportunities provided by the bank to store their money at the safe place where it could grow them an extra kina.

She said the Plus Save account is an ideal product for village mothers and those involved in informal business activities because it charges no service fees but calculates interest daily and pay quarterly.

All BSP customers are eligible to access banking services from any cash agents which the bank is looking forward to establish throughout East Sepik.

Wewak town area currently has cash agents at Kaindi, town market and Wewak Hill areas and the bank is looking establishing one at Makon village soon.
